On 20 October 2019, Aya Burweila, the Founder of Code on the Road attended the opening of the First Policy Dialogue Forum on Refugees and Migrants titled “Understanding current challenges of refugees and migrants in Europe: What can we do?” organised by KAICIID Dialogue Centre.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by KAICIID Secretary General H.E. Faisal Bin Muaammar and the Keynote Speech was delivered by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Teresa Indjein, Director General for International Cultural Relations in the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Network for Dialogue brings together local faith and dialogue actors from a range of European countries in order to empower intercultural and interreligious action for refugee and migrant inclusion.
The forum took place at the Hilton Hotel in Athens, Greece and was jointly organized by KAICIID Dialogue Centre and the Network for Dialogue.
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) is an intergovernmental organization whose mandate is to promote the use of dialogue globally to prevent and resolve conflict to enhance understanding and cooperation. Over a seven-year-long negotiation and development process, KAICIID’s mandate and structure were designed to foster dialogue among people of different faiths and cultures that bridges animosities, reduces fear and instills mutual respect.
