FUNZI FOUNDER 101 HUB BUSINESS ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM / ONLINE COURSE 2022

Code on the Road launches its Funzi Founder 101 Hub business entrepreneurship online course. This mobile module is part of its program to empower native and migrant women through business entrepreneurship and software training.

STERGIOS SOUGIOULTZOGLOU
Funzi Workshop Instructor

Sterios Sougioultzoglou is the Chief Investment Officer at the Hellenic Development Bank, a published writer and a course maker in education and self-development. Sterios grew up in Athens and London and graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Economy and Sociology and a MSc in Investment Management from City University Business School. He went on to work at Credit Agricole Investment Bank co-managing 500 million USD in global equities mandate and then was the Greek Equities research head at UBS Investment Management, London. Having worked on projects in five continents, Sterios has run a private equity fund, listed a company on the NYSE, co-managed a real estate company in Romania, a shipping company in Latin America and a gold exploration company in Africa. 

DIMITRIS PAPADAKIS
Funzi 101 Hub Instructor

Dimitris Papadakis is currently the Entrepreneurship Trainer at Alba Graduate Business School’s Hub for Entrepreneurship and Development of The American College of Greece. He is involved in various start up and Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) projects as an external consultant. In the past ten years, Dimitris has performed in both associate and leadership roles in corporate and startup environments, has founded and sold his own company and has engaged with the educational industry in multiple contexts and frameworks. As an international professional, Dimitris has lived and worked in 12 countries, has worked with people from at least 50 different nationalities and continues to support students, graduates and professionals through various initiatives as a career and life counselor, mentor and business coach.

Code on the Road is now accepting registrations for its Funzi Founder 101 Hub business entrepreneurship online course.

The course is FREE but there is limited capacity so register now. Deadline for registrations is midnight on Thursday 24th MARCH 2022. The orientation session (compulsory) will be on Saturday 26th MARCH 2022, and the course starts on MONDAY 28th MARCH 2022. 

The course will be taught in English and lasts 7 weeks.

THE WHO, WHAT AND WHERE

Can anyone register?
 
If you’re a human and belong to the female sex, you can register. The program is open to all women and girls who wish to learn the principles of business entrepreneurship or to improve their already existing businesses—regardless of age, race, and religious or political status. Ability to attend weekly on-site sessions is a must. Sadly, extraterrestrials are currently excluded until further accommodations can be made.
 
What is the Funzi Founder 101 Hub? 
 
The Funzi Founder 101 Hub is a blended learning program that consists of participants studying an online course on their mobile devices (=mobile learning) and attending on-site sessions facilitated by Code on the Road, the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund  (AEIF) team, and our local partners. During the 7-week program, participants study one course module as mobile learning per week, after which they attend an on-site training session to deepen their learning with the help of expert facilitators. Through practical tasks and activities, the on-site sessions take the participants further in improving their own business ideas or their already existing businesses.
 
The program focuses on building entrepreneurial skills and a growth mindset in order to be a successful entrepreneur and consists of the following 6 modules:
 
  • The Founder: The right entrepreneurial mindset and skill set of a successful entrepreneur

  • The Inventor: Identifying and developing ideas, solving customers’ problems by developing the right products or services, prototyping and testing, creating a Business Model Canvas

  • The Marketer: Storytelling, pitching, other communication skills, sales and marketing strategy

  • The Manager: Different forms of enterprise, what they mean for organizing the ownership and funding of a company, and choosing the right form of enterprise to best fit the entrepreneur’s vision

  • The Banker: Managing costs, basic reporting requirements, understanding funding opportunities in different growth stages

  • The Leader: Building company culture, hiring the right employees, leading and motivating employees, resolving conflict in the workplace

Where will the on-site sessions take place? 
 

Given the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in Greece and elsewhere, the Funzi Founder 101 Hub business entrepreneurship program’s once a week, weekend, on-site sessions will be replaced with ONLINE ZOOM SESSION with tutors and special guests which will take place on every Saturday for the duration of the program. The course starts on MONDAY 28th March 2022.

What happens after? 
 
At the completion of this course, students will receive a certificate and will be introduced to mentoring networks to assist them in finding internships, labor opportunities, and dedicated mentors.
